Kevin Kolb was born on August 24, 1984 in Victoria, Texas, and started four seasons at Houston, finishing with 12,964 passing yards and the 2006 Conference USA Offensive MVP award. The Philadelphia Eagles drafted him in the second round, 36th overall, in 2007. He appeared in one game as a rookie, and Madden NFL 08 listed him at 74 overall for the 2007 season.
Standing in for Donovan McNabb on September 20 and September 27, 2009, Kolb threw for 391 yards against New Orleans and 327 against Kansas City, becoming the first quarterback to pass for 300 yards in each of his first two career starts, and he was named NFC Offensive Player of the Week. McNabb was traded in April 2010 and Kolb opened that season as the starter, but a concussion in the week one game against Green Bay cost him the job to Michael Vick.
Philadelphia traded Kolb to Arizona on July 28, 2011, and he opened with 309 yards and two touchdowns against Carolina on September 11. Madden NFL 12 listed him at 84 overall for the 2011 season, which turf toe and a second concussion cut short. Madden NFL 13 listed him at 75 for 2012, when a rib injury put him on injured reserve. He retired in 2014 with post-concussion syndrome, having thrown for 5,206 yards and 28 touchdowns.
