Amobi Okoye was 19 years old when the Houston Texans made him the 10th overall pick in 2007, the youngest player ever taken in the first round. Born in Nigeria, he skipped grades, enrolled at Louisville at 16, and reached the NFL before most of his draft class could legally drink. He backed up the hype early, leading the AFC with four sacks in September, taking Defensive Rookie of the Month honors, and finishing with five and a half sacks as a rookie.

The production never climbed from there. He closed out his Houston run in 2010, bounced through Chicago, Tampa Bay and Dallas, and later played a season in the CFL. In 2013 he was diagnosed with anti-NMDA receptor encephalitis, a rare autoimmune disease that put him in a medically induced coma, a fight that reshaped his life away from football.

That rookie promise shows up clearly in his ratings. Madden listed him at 79 in the 2007 edition, then spiked him to a career-best 92 in the 2008 game after his fast start, before the number receded into the mid-70s across his final editions as the sacks dried up.
