Stephen Tulloch Madden Career 2008-2017 - Peak 90 OVR

Tennessee grabbed Stephen Tulloch in the fourth round out of NC State in 2006, 116th overall, and he grew into a middle linebacker who met runners in the hole and rarely missed. He piled up 457 tackles across five Titans seasons before Detroit signed him in 2011, where he immediately started every game and posted 111 tackles. The Lions liked what they saw enough to hand him a five-year extension.

His career took a strange turn in September 2014, when he tore his ACL celebrating a sack of Aaron Rodgers, a self-inflicted blow that cost him the rest of the season. He came back, played out his time in Detroit, spent a final year in Philadelphia, and retired in 2017 after eleven seasons.

Madden climbed right along with his tackle totals, rising from a 74 in the 2007 edition to a 90 in the 2012 game that reflected his most productive Detroit stretch. It hovered in the high 80s for several editions before the injuries and age caught up, dropping all the way to a 60 in the 2016 edition as his run wound down.
