Ohio State guard turned cannabis entrepreneur with Calvin Johnson
Rob Sims won a national title at Ohio State, part of the team that took the January 2003 Fiesta Bowl, and was a first-team All-Big Ten guard by 2005. Seattle spent a fourth-round pick on him in 2006, and he grew into a starter on the Seahawks line before an April 2010 trade sent him to Detroit. Across eight seasons he started 114 of the 125 games he played, most of them helping protect Matthew Stafford.
His rating built slowly and steadily. Sims jumped from 75 in the 2006 edition to 84 the next year, held in the low 80s, and reached a career-best 89 in Madden 2013 as an established Lions starter, before settling to 83 in his final 2014 edition. His father Mickey also played in the NFL. After football, Sims and former teammate Calvin Johnson launched a cannabis company and partnered with Harvard on medical research.
