The rookie who set a Super Bowl catch record for backs
Addai won a ring before he ever started a regular-season game. As a 2006 rookie splitting carries in Indianapolis, he still led all first-year backs with 1,081 rushing yards, then poured in 143 total yards in Super Bowl XLI against the Bears, including 10 receptions that set a Super Bowl record for a running back. Two weeks earlier, his short touchdown run late in the AFC Championship had helped bury New England.
The Colts took him 30th overall out of LSU, where he finished among the school's all-time rushing leaders, and paired his patience as a runner with soft hands and dependable pass protection for Peyton Manning. His lone Pro Bowl came after the 2007 season. He closed a six-year Indianapolis run with 4,453 rushing yards, 39 rushing touchdowns and 191 catches before injuries and a thin 2011 pushed him out.
