Carson Palmer's blind side, and a Vegas brawl with Joey Porter
Cincinnati handed Levi Jones the blind side, and for most of a decade he held it. The Bengals took the Arizona State tackle tenth overall in 2002 and installed him at left tackle, where he protected Carson Palmer through the quarterback's rise and the franchise's return to the playoffs. He started 97 games across seven seasons in stripes. He is also remembered for a 2007 offseason fight outside a Las Vegas casino with Steelers linebacker Joey Porter, a flare-up of AFC North bad blood that cost Porter fines and game checks. Cincinnati released him in 2009 after drafting Andre Smith, and he finished with a single season in Washington.
His Madden line rose steadily as he settled in. A 75 as a rookie in the 2002 edition, he reached 90 by the 2004 edition and held there, climbing to a peak 93 in the 2007 edition. Knee trouble and a shrinking role then dropped the number to 81 by the 2009 edition.
