Wayne Gandy: Auburn tackle, 219 games over 15 seasons
Wayne Gandy was born on February 10, 1971 in Haines City, Florida, and played college football at Auburn, where he was a consensus All-American on the undefeated 1993 team. The Los Angeles Rams drafted him 15th overall in 1994. He started nine games at right tackle as a rookie, a season Madden NFL 95 listed at a calculated 70, and started every game over the next four years as the Rams moved to St. Louis.
Gandy signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers in 1999 and played left tackle there for four seasons. Madden NFL 99 had rated his final Rams season, 1998, a calculated 77; Madden NFL 03 put him at a stored 87 for 2002, his last year in Pittsburgh. He signed a six-year deal with the New Orleans Saints on March 2, 2003 and started all 48 games across three seasons.
The Saints traded him to Atlanta on April 7, 2006 for safety Bryan Scott and a draft pick, and Madden NFL 07 carried him at a stored 88 for that season. He tore an anterior cruciate ligament against the Tennessee Titans on October 7, 2007 and missed the rest of the year. Released in February 2008 and re-signed that October, he finished with 219 games and 205 starts over 15 seasons, and later worked in sports broadcasting.
