Draft Profile: Bio
Ezomo Oratokhai was an unranked recruit from Lake Travis High School in Austin, Texas, where he was a two-year captain. He had offers from Tulane, Houston, Memphis and the service academies before signing with Northwestern in the 2024 class.Oratokhai played in four games in his 2024 debut and made two starts, including one against Ohio State. In 2025 he was Northwestern's left guard for all 13 games and earned honorable mention All-Big Ten honors. He allowed only one sack and 11 pressures in 835 snaps, and he went the last 12 games without allowing a sack or a hit.
Oratokhai's 2026 season lasted only 17 snaps. He was carted off during the 41-7 win over Colorado, and the school announced on 30 September that he would miss the rest of the season. The injury has not been disclosed. Head coach David Braun has said that his strength levels and football IQ stood out early.
Scouting Report: Strengths
- Earned honorable mention All-Big Ten honors as a 13-game starter in 2025
- Allowed one sack in 835 snaps during the 2025 season
- Athletic guard whose forty ranks in the good range
- Held his own as a freshman starter against Ohio State
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- Season-ending injury against Colorado after only 17 snaps this year
- The nature of the injury has not been disclosed
- Just a single full season of starting on his record
- Unranked recruit who was lightly pursued out of high school
- Committed five penalties as a starter during the 2025 season
Scouting Report: Summary
Oratokhai was one of the best young guards in the Big Ten in 2025. He is strong, athletic and smart, and he was hard to beat in pass protection, allowing one sack in more than 800 snaps. However, his 2026 season ended almost as soon as it started when he was carted off against Colorado, and the injury has not been disclosed. He has only one full season of starting, so teams will rely on old film and his medical report.
Overall, Oratokhai is a promising guard whose stock depends on his recovery. He projects as a priority free agent, though a return to Northwestern seems the likelier path.

For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.
*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
