Draft Profile: Bio
Makilan Thomas was a Class 7A all-state pick at Little Rock Central High School in Arkansas and a three-star recruit. He started the final game of his redshirt season at Arkansas State in 2021 at right tackle.Thomas started all 12 games in 2022, mostly at left tackle, then made 13 starts in 2023 and earned second-team All-Sun Belt honors after allowing one sack in 836 snaps. He started nine games at right tackle in 2024 before transferring to Virginia in the spring of 2025, but a broken foot early in fall camp cost him the entire season.
Now in his sixth college season, Thomas moved to right guard in 2026 and made his first start there in the 34-8 win over NC State on 29 August. He has started every game since and made the Freaks List, allowing four pressures in nine games.
Scouting Report: Strengths
- Clean in pass protection, with four pressures allowed in nine games
- Looked comfortable at right guard from his first start there against NC State
- Versatile lineman with more than 40 college starts at tackle and guard
- Strong athlete for his size, earning a place on the Freaks List
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- Florida State got three pressures on him in a 38-7 loss
- Broken foot cost him the entire 2025 season
- Older prospect who is now in his sixth college season
- Has played only one season at guard, so his best position is still unsettled
- Gave up three sacks at right tackle in 2024
Scouting Report: Summary
Thomas has made a smooth move inside to right guard after five years at tackle. He is a good athlete for his size, sets well in pass protection and has given up only four pressures this season, which has helped Virginia's line settle. However, he is an older prospect who lost all of 2025 to a broken foot, and his tape at guard covers just one season. Florida State's front gave him problems, and he allowed three sacks at right tackle in 2024.
Overall, Thomas brings experience at three positions and a steady pass-blocking game. He projects as a priority free agent interior lineman who can back up at three spots.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank
in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance.
For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.
*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
