Justin Herbert: 2020 Rookie of the Year, 24,820 yards
Justin Herbert was born on March 10, 1998 in Eugene, Oregon, and played four seasons at Oregon, winning the 2019 Campbell Trophy. The Los Angeles Chargers took him sixth overall in the 2020 draft. He made his first start on September 20, 2020 against Kansas City after Tyrod Taylor was injured, set a rookie record with 31 touchdown passes and was named AP Offensive Rookie of the Year. Madden NFL 21 listed him at 70 for that season.
In 2021 he threw for 5,014 yards and 38 touchdowns, the first 5,000-yard season in franchise history, and made his first Pro Bowl; Madden NFL 22 gave him an 80 for the year. Madden NFL 23 put him at 88 for 2022, when he passed for 4,739 yards and lost his first playoff game 31-30 at Jacksonville after the Chargers led 27-0. A broken index finger ended his 2023 season in December.
Herbert threw 23 touchdown passes against three interceptions in 2024, his first season under head coach Jim Harbaugh, and Madden NFL 25 listed him at 87 for that year. He was named to a second Pro Bowl for 2025. Through the 2025 season he had completed 66.5 percent of his passes for 24,820 yards, 163 touchdowns and 58 interceptions.
