Dak Prescott was born on July 29, 1993 in Sulphur, Louisiana, played quarterback at Mississippi State, and was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in the fourth round, 135th overall, in 2016. Injuries to Tony Romo and Kellen Moore handed him the starting job before the opener. He threw 29 touchdown passes against four interceptions, won Offensive Rookie of the Year on a 13-3 team, and Madden NFL 17 rated him 71 for that season.
Madden NFL 18 rated him 86 for the 2017 season, and he made a second Pro Bowl after 2018. A compound fracture and dislocation of his right ankle in an October 2020 game against the New York Giants ended that season after five starts. He returned in 2021 and signed a four-year extension worth $160 million. A fractured right thumb cost him five games in 2022, the season Madden NFL 23 rated him 89.
He led the NFL with 36 touchdown passes in 2023 and finished second in MVP voting. He signed a four-year, $240 million extension on September 8, 2024, and a hamstring injury ended that season after eight starts; Madden NFL 25 rated him 90 for 2024. Through the 2025 season he had thrown for 35,989 yards.
