Geno Smith: 2013 Jets Second-Round Pick, 2022 Comeback Player
Geno Smith was born on October 10, 1990 in Miramar, Florida, and played college football at West Virginia, where he led the NCAA with 42 touchdown passes in 2012. The New York Jets drafted him 39th overall in the second round in 2013. He started all 16 games as a rookie for 3,046 yards, 12 touchdowns and 21 interceptions, and Madden NFL 25 listed him at 73 for that season.
Smith spent 2017 with the New York Giants and 2018 with the Los Angeles Chargers, then backed up in Seattle from 2019; Madden NFL 21 listed him at 56 for the 2020 season. He won the Seahawks' starting job in 2022 and threw for 4,282 yards and 30 touchdowns with a league-leading 69.8 completion percentage, taking Associated Press Comeback Player of the Year and a first Pro Bowl selection. Madden NFL 24 put him at 81 for 2023, when he threw for 3,624 yards and made a second Pro Bowl.
He passed for 4,320 yards in 2024, breaking his own Seahawks single-season record, and Madden NFL 25 listed him at 78 for that year. Seattle traded him to the Las Vegas Raiders in March 2025, and he opened the season with 362 yards against New England. The Raiders traded him to the Jets in March 2026. Through the 2025 season he had 22,168 passing yards, 124 touchdowns and 89 interceptions.
