Demario Davis was born on January 11, 1989 in Collins, Mississippi, played college football at Arkansas State, and was drafted by the New York Jets in the third round, 77th overall, in 2012. He played 16 games with three starts as a rookie, and Madden NFL 13 rated that season a 61. He started every game from 2013 through 2015, and Madden NFL 16 rated his 2015 season an 81.

Davis signed with Cleveland in 2016, was traded back to the Jets in June 2017, and set a career high with 135 combined tackles that year. He signed with New Orleans in March 2018. In 2019 he recorded 111 combined tackles and 4.0 sacks and was named first-team All-Pro; Madden NFL 20 rated that season an 85.

He was second-team All-Pro in each of the four seasons that followed, 2020 through 2023, and was selected to the Pro Bowl after the 2022 and 2023 seasons. He played all 1,132 of the Saints' defensive snaps in 2022, and Madden NFL 23 rated that season a 93. Through the 2025 season he had 1,536 combined tackles, 45.0 sacks and four interceptions in 227 games.
