Kyle Wilber was a Wake Forest product and a fourth-round pick of Dallas in 2012, a versatile player who could line up at linebacker or defensive end but who really earned his keep on special teams. He spent six years in Dallas as a coverage-unit regular and situational defender, a player whose value never shows up in a box score.

The Madden card, which rates his defensive play, stays modest by design. He climbed from a 64 to a 77 peak in Madden NFL 16 and otherwise held in the low-to-mid 70s, the grade of a rotational player with few starts and a thin defensive stat line, a handful of sacks across a long career. The number reflected the part of his game the rating measures, not the part that kept him employed.

He took the same role to the Raiders for a few more seasons, more than 130 games behind him despite barely a dozen starts, then moved into coaching.
