The UConn Husky who guarded Eli's blindside and won two rings
Connecticut had never sent a player to a Super Bowl winner until Beatty, a second-round pick at 60th overall in 2009, took over left tackle for the Giants and helped Eli Manning to the title in Super Bowl XLVI over New England. He protected Manning's blindside through some rough luck, missing time in 2011 after a detached retina required emergency surgery and breaking his leg in the 2013 finale. The Giants still believed in him, signing him in February 2013 to a five-year deal worth up to $38.75 million.
His Madden number mirrored that trajectory. After grading as a 78 in the 2012 edition, Beatty jumped to a 90 in 2013 on the strength of a strong protecting season, then slid to a 75 in 2014 as injuries mounted before rebounding to 85. He closed his career with a second ring, this time as a reserve on the Eagles team that won Super Bowl LII.
