A 6-foot-7 edge with a 98-inch wingspan in Cincinnati

Michael Johnson unfolded to 6 feet 7 with 87-inch arms, and the Bengals grabbed the Georgia Tech end in the third round, 70th overall, in 2009. That length made throwing lanes disappear. In 2012 he broke out with 11.5 sacks, enough that Cincinnati slapped the franchise tag on him the following spring.

He cashed in with Tampa Bay on a five-year, $43.98 million deal in 2014, but injuries held him to 4.0 sacks and the Buccaneers released him after a single season. Cincinnati brought him home, and in 2018 he returned an interception 22 yards to the house against Miami for his only NFL touchdown. Madden rode the 2012 surge, lifting him from a 77 in that year's game to an 89 in 2013 and a career-high 91 in the 2014 edition. The Tampa detour cooled things off, and the rating settled into the 70s for the back half of his career.
