Tyvon Branch played all 48 games at UConn and never really slowed down once Oakland drafted him in the fourth round, 100th overall, in 2008. By his second year he was a full-time starter, and in 2009 he piled up roughly 124 tackles as the Raiders' strong safety, a downhill hitter who lived near the line of scrimmage.

That production earned him a four-year extension worth $26.6 million in 2012, and it earned him a steady climb in Madden. He entered at 72 in the 2008 edition, dipped to 61, then shot up to the high 80s as a starter and held an 89 across the 2012 and 2013 games.

Injuries cut the peak short. He finished his Oakland run in 2014, spent 2015 in Kansas City and two years in Arizona, and tore an ACL against Seattle on a Thursday night in November 2017, ending his career. He went home to Syracuse and co-founded a youth football academy.
