Pierre Garcon came out of Mount Union, a Division III program in Ohio, and had to prove he belonged at every stop. The son of Haitian immigrants, he was a sixth-round pick of Indianapolis, 205th overall, in 2008. Two seasons later he caught 11 passes for 151 yards in the AFC Championship Game and reached Super Bowl XLIV with Peyton Manning throwing to him.

Washington paid him as a number one receiver in 2012, and he rewarded them in 2013 by leading the NFL with 113 catches, a franchise record. He was a sure-handed, physical target who ran through tackles rather than around defenders.

His Madden rise tracks the move to a bigger role. He was buried at 54 in the 2009 edition, climbed to 80 once he left Indianapolis, and hit a peak of 89 in the 2014 game on the strength of that record-setting season. He wrapped up with two seasons in San Francisco before retiring after 2018.
