Adam Timmerman was born on August 14, 1971 in Cherokee, Iowa, played college football at South Dakota State, and was drafted by the Green Bay Packers in the seventh round, 230th overall, in 1995. He took over at right guard in 1996 and started every game as the Packers won Super Bowl XXXI. Madden NFL 99 put him at a calculated 88 for 1998, his final season in Green Bay.

He signed with the St. Louis Rams in 1999 and started at right guard on the line that won Super Bowl XXXIV in January 2000. Madden NFL 2000 put him at a calculated 92 for that season, and he was named to the Pro Bowl. He made a second Pro Bowl and second-team All-Pro in 2001, when the Rams lost Super Bowl XXXVI, and Madden NFL 03 rated him 94 for the 2002 season.

Timmerman was the Rams' starting right guard from 1999 through 2006, and Madden NFL 06 rated him 92 for the 2005 season. He retired after the 2006 season, having appeared in four Super Bowls. He returned to his family farm near Cherokee, Iowa, and was inducted into the South Dakota State Athletics Hall of Fame in 2012.
