McClain should have been long gone. The Lions pounced, and earned a B.

Somebody in pick No. 118 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Lions sat still while Jaylen McClain, the No. 97 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium.

If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through running back. Reaching for Babalade left real value on the table behind him.

Cornerback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.

A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
