Draft Profile: Bio
Trey'Dez Green was the top prospect in Louisiana and the No. 1 tight end in the 2024 class on the On3 composite, playing his senior season at Zachary after first-team all-state honors at East Feliciana. He caught 53 passes for 960 yards and 12 scores as a senior, averaged 27 points a game on the basketball court as a junior and later played for LSU's basketball team, making his debut at Alabama in January 2025.Green started two games as a freshman and caught two touchdowns in the Texas Bowl win over Baylor. In 2025 he caught 33 passes for 433 yards and seven touchdowns, a school record for an LSU tight end, despite missing two games with an MCL sprain. He had eight catches for 119 yards and a score against South Carolina, was a second-team All-SEC pick by the coaches and closed with four catches for 80 yards and two touchdowns in the Texas Bowl against Houston.
Green re-signed with LSU in January 2026 and was a preseason first-team All-American for Walter Camp. He caught six passes for 104 yards and a touchdown against Louisiana Tech, but he was carted off with a right leg injury late in the 32-24 loss at Ole Miss on 19 September. X-rays showed no significant damage, and he missed four games before returning early at Auburn, where he caught five passes for 50 yards and a touchdown. Lane Kiffin has called his skill set ultra-elite.
Scouting Report: Strengths
- Rare size-speed combination for a tight end, with a top-tier forty
- Holds LSU's single-season and career tight end touchdown records
- Caught eight passes for 119 yards against South Carolina in 2025
- Owns the middle of the field, where his catch radius erases off-target throws
- Basketball background shows in how he boxes out defenders at the catch point
- Gains real yards after the catch, with 149 on 19 receptions this season
- Scored in his return from injury in the October win at Auburn
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- Five drops on 51 targets in 2025, so the hands lag the athleticism
- Very light for inline work, with modest proof as a blocker
- Knee injuries cost him games in both 2025 and 2026
Scouting Report: Summary
The body and the ball skills come along once or twice a class. Green is a basketball-bred mismatch who played SEC hoops less than two years ago, and his football production has grown every season: a school record for tight end touchdowns in 2025, second-team All-SEC honors and two more scores in the Texas Bowl. The South Carolina tape from last season is the showcase, eight catches for 119 yards against a defense that had no answer for his size and speed. His 2026 start continued the climb. He had 162 yards in the first two games, ran away from Louisiana Tech defenders for 104 yards and a score and averaged more than 14 yards a catch before his injury. When he returned at Auburn, he scored again, and Lane Kiffin has said he expected him back sooner than most because of how he approaches his work.
However, the file still has rough edges. Five drops on 51 targets in 2025 is a real number, and the catching technique lags behind the athleticism. He is very light for inline work and has limited proof as a blocker, so the attached half of the position remains a projection, and most of his production has come detached from the formation. Knee injuries have also cost him games in both of the last two seasons, an MCL sprain in 2025 and a right leg injury at Ole Miss that kept him out for four games this fall.
Overall, tight ends with this frame, this speed and this production at his age carry first-round conversations every spring they stay healthy, and he shows some Brock Bowers-like traits as a move weapon. He projects as a first-round move tight end a creative coordinator can line up anywhere, with All-Pro upside if the hands and the blocking improve.
Update - 11/03/2026
Green missed four games after a knee injury at Ole Miss on 19 September but avoided surgery. He returned at Auburn on 24 October with five catches for 50 yards and a touchdown.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank
in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance.
For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.
*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
