Bo Nix was born on February 25, 2000, in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. He played three seasons at Auburn and was SEC Freshman of the Year in 2019, then transferred to Oregon, where in 2023 he led the FBS in passing touchdowns and completion percentage and won the William V. Campbell Trophy. The Denver Broncos drafted him 12th overall in the 2024 NFL draft.

Nix started all 17 games as a rookie, the first Broncos rookie to open a season at quarterback since John Elway in 1983. He threw for 3,775 yards with 29 touchdowns and 12 interceptions, and his 26-of-29, 321-yard, four-touchdown Week 18 game against Kansas City clinched Denver's first playoff berth since 2015. Madden NFL 25 listed him at 71 overall for that season. He finished third in Offensive Rookie of the Year voting.

He started all 17 games again in 2025, throwing for 3,931 yards with 25 touchdowns and 11 interceptions, and Madden NFL 26 carried him at 79 overall for that year. A Week 15 win over Green Bay, in which he went 23 of 34 for 302 yards and four touchdowns, clinched a playoff place, and Denver beat Buffalo 33-30 in overtime in the divisional round. Nix broke his ankle late in that game and was placed on injured reserve on January 24, 2026.
