Joe Mixon Madden Career 2018-2026 - Peak 93 OVR
A second-round back who carried Cincinnati's ground game
Joe Mixon was a first-round talent who slid to the 48th pick in 2017 because of a 2014 incident at Oklahoma, when he was suspended a full season after video showed him striking a woman in a restaurant. On the field he gave the Bengals a big, complete back who could grind between the tackles and catch out of the backfield.
He made his first Pro Bowl in 2021, the first Bengals running back so honored since Rudi Johnson, and helped carry Cincinnati to Super Bowl LVI, where he even threw a touchdown pass to Tee Higgins. His signature day came in 2022 against Carolina, a franchise-record five touchdowns in a 42-21 win. Traded to Houston in 2024, he ran for over 1,000 yards again before a leg injury cost him the 2025 season.
Madden treated him as a workhorse throughout. He entered at 79 in the 2017 edition, broke into the high 80s by 2019, and hit a career-best 93 in the 2022 edition. Even after the move to Houston the game kept him at 91 in both the 2024 and 2025 editions, respect for a back who topped 7,400 rushing yards and 60 scores.
