La'el Collins Madden Career 2016-2023 - Peak 87 OVR
A first-round talent who fell to a rumor and started anyway
La'el Collins should have gone in the first round, a Jacobs Blocking Trophy winner at LSU, until police sought to speak with him days before the 2015 draft in connection with a woman's death. He was never a suspect and was quickly cleared, but he went undrafted, and Dallas signed him.
It worked out. He became the starting right tackle and earned a roughly fifty-million-dollar extension, and Madden climbed him from a 72 to an 87 by the 2022 edition. He moved on to Cincinnati and reached a Super Bowl before a torn ACL wound things down, a genuine first-round talent who fell for reasons that evaporated.
