Grady Jarrett was born April 28, 1993 in Conyers, Georgia, and played four seasons at Clemson, earning first-team All-ACC honors as a senior in 2014. The Atlanta Falcons drafted him in the fifth round of 2015, 137th overall. His father, Jessie Tuggle, played 14 seasons at linebacker for the same club. Madden NFL 16 rated him 67 for his rookie season, when he appeared in 15 games and started two.

Jarrett moved into the starting lineup in 2016 and sacked Tom Brady three times in Super Bowl LI, tying the record for sacks in a single Super Bowl. Madden NFL 18 listed him at 82 for the 2017 season, his first figure in the 80s. He posted 7.5 sacks and 69 tackles in 2019, made the Pro Bowl and was named second-team All-Pro, then made the Pro Bowl again after 2020, the season for which Madden NFL 21 put him at 90, his highest.

He started all 17 games in 2021, 2022 and 2024, and a knee injury limited him to eight games in 2023. Madden NFL 25 gave him an 84 for the 2024 season, his last in Atlanta; the Falcons released him in March 2025 and he signed a three-year contract with the Chicago Bears two days later. Through the 2025 season he had 38 sacks, 535 tackles and 78 tackles for loss in 166 games.
