Adam Carriker Madden Career 2008-2013 - Peak 89 OVR

The Rams took Adam Carriker 13th overall in 2007, betting that the Nebraska star who finished sixth on the school's career sack list could anchor their line. He opened with 32 tackles and two sacks as a rookie, but the fit never took, and after a shoulder injury wiped out his 2009 season, St. Louis shipped him to Washington in a draft-day trade.

He found a home at defensive end in Jim Haslett's 3-4, playing every game in 2010 and 2011. Then his body betrayed him. In Week 2 of 2012 he tore the quadriceps tendon in his right knee, and complications led to three surgeries and, eventually, the end of his career. He later resurfaced at the 2015 veteran combine and put up 40 bench reps at 225 pounds, more than any player managed at that year's rookie combine.

His Madden line reads like the career itself. Carriker debuted at 82 in the 2007 edition and spiked to a career-best 89 in 2008 on rookie promise, then tumbled to 74 by 2010 before settling in the high 70s through 2013 as the knee kept him grounded.
