Jay Cutler was born April 29, 1983 in Santa Claus, Indiana, played college football at Vanderbilt and was named SEC Offensive Player of the Year in 2005. The Denver Broncos drafted him 11th overall in 2006, and he started the final five games of his rookie year. Madden NFL 07 listed him at 79 overall for that 2006 season.
Cutler threw for 4,526 yards and 25 touchdowns in 2008, the yardage a Denver single-season franchise record at the time, and was selected to the Pro Bowl as a reserve. Madden NFL 09 rated him 86 overall for that season. Denver traded him to Chicago for Kyle Orton and three draft picks on April 3, 2009, and he threw a league-leading 26 interceptions in his first Bears season.
Cutler led Chicago to the NFC Championship Game after the 2010 season and left the 21-14 loss to Green Bay with a knee injury early in the third quarter. Madden NFL 13 rated him 87 overall for 2012, and Madden NFL 16 carried him at 79 for 2015. The Bears released him in March 2017 and he announced his retirement, then signed with Miami that August and started 14 games. Cutler finished with 35,133 passing yards and 227 touchdown passes, and he left Chicago as the franchise leader in passing yards, touchdowns, attempts and completions.
