Draft Profile: Bio
Laurance Seymore from Miami Central High School was rated a 4-star recruit by ESPN and handed a 4-star grade by 247 Sports. Following high school, Seymore opted to join Miami (FL).In 2021 as a freshman Seymore saw action in just 2 games and played a total of 24 snaps for the Hurricanes. He allowed no QB hurries, no QB hits, and no sacks while playing at center.
As a sophomore in 2022 he played in 6 games and a total of 254 snaps. He conceded 4 QB hurries, one QB hit, and 3 sacks while playing the majority of his snaps at left guard, and the rest at right guard.
Scouting Report: Strengths
- Seymore is a work in progress with high-end physical traits. He’s extremely light on his feet for a 300-pounder, a natural knee bender who plays with balance and leverage.
- He moves much better than his relatively squat, square frame would suggest. Fluid and flexible, he’s capable of moving in space and latching on to moving targets at the second level.
- He has a high football IQ, handling protection calls at the line of scrimmage.
- Has the natural power to move defenders at the point of attack. He also has the agility and speed to get out in front and land blocks at the second level. Seymore also shows a good understanding of angles when climbing to the second level.
- Fires off the snap quickly, and Seymore shows the flexibility to get out and seal on reach blocks. He’s at his best, however, in the phone booth.
- Awareness is above-average for his limited experience. Sells trap block and can turn to seal. Fluid getting to and adjust at the second level.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- Lacks ideal movement skills in the run game. He’ll get to the second level, but Seymore tends to lock on to a path toward his target and then struggles if he has to adjust.
- Has a bad habit of panicking on reach blocks, lunging, and grabbing rather than trusting his athleticism to get him in position, which could lead to frequent flags for holding.
- Seymore doesn’t have ideal coordination between his upper and lower body and is often overeager to land an initial punch, he is prone to playing off-balance and struggling against counter moves.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank
in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance.
For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.
*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
