Draft Profile: Bio
Coming out of Tallahassee Lincoln High School as one of Florida's most decorated defensive prospects, Wilson arrived in Athens with legitimate track speed and a motor that runs hot from whistle to whistle. The son of former Florida A&M receiver and NFL veteran Robert Wilson, football flows through his bloodline alongside brothers Trevor and Robert who also compete at the collegiate level. Wilson's high school dominance included back-to-back monster seasons with 139 tackles as a junior and 117 tackles with 18 TFLs as a senior, earning him All-Big Bend Defensive Player of the Year honors and selection to the Under Armour All-America Game.

His transition to SEC football showcased the raw ability that made him a consensus four-star recruit across all major platforms, with 247Sports rating him particularly high at 0.98 composite grade. After earning SEC All-Freshman Team recognition in 2023 with limited snaps, Wilson exploded onto the scene during Georgia's championship run in 2024. His 47 tackles, 7.0 TFLs, and 1.5 sacks across 14 games demonstrated the sideline-to-sideline range that college scouts projected when he clocked 10.91 in the 100-meter dash during high school track season.

Wilson's junior campaign featured signature moments that hint at his NFL ceiling, including a career-high seven tackles against Florida, a 28-yard sack with forced fumble against Kentucky that earned him SEC Defensive Player of the Week honors, and clutch tackles for loss in both the SEC Championship and Sugar Bowl. His combination of elite straight-line speed testing at 4.52 forty-yard dash with the instincts to consistently find himself around the football makes him one of the more intriguing linebacker prospects entering the 2026 draft cycle.
Scouting Report: Strengths
  • Possesses elite straight-line speed for the position - translates to chase-down ability in pursuit
  • Demonstrates excellent recognition skills in run fits, consistently flowing to the correct gap and arriving with bad intentions
  • Shows impressive range extending outside the tackles, capable of running down skill position players from behind in space
  • Attacks blocks with proper hand placement and leverage, showing steady improvement in shedding techniques throughout college career
  • Brings natural tackling instincts with strong wrap-up technique, rarely allowing runners to break through his grasp for extra yards
  • Displays comfortable coverage skills in both man and zone concepts, showing smooth transitions and adequate ball skills
  • Maintains high energy level throughout contests, playing with consistent effort regardless of score or game situation
  • Exhibits strong football IQ with ability to communicate pre-snap adjustments and serve as defensive signal caller when needed
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
  • Limited size at 6'1" 235 pounds creates concerns about matching up against larger tight ends and fullbacks in coverage
  • Inconsistent pass rush development despite flashes, lacking refined hand techniques and counter moves to consistently pressure quarterbacks
  • Struggles with assignment discipline at times, showing tendency to bite on play-action and misdirection concepts too aggressively
  • Below-average testing numbers in height and weight percentiles suggest physical limitations against NFL-caliber offensive linemen
  • Coverage skills remain developmental against elite receiving threats, occasionally getting caught flat-footed on intermediate routes
Scouting Report: Summary
Wilson's speed jumps off the tape, but his coverage work against better athletes tells a different story. He's money in run fits and pursuit, yet struggles when asked to match routes or generate consistent pass rush. The 235-pound frame limits him against bigger bodies, though his tackling technique rarely fails him when he arrives.

This is a run-and-hit linebacker who brings juice as a special teamer from day one. His instincts in the box are solid, but coverage responsibilities expose a player still learning to process at NFL speed. Wilson plays hard and knows where to be against the run - the question is whether he can develop the coverage chops to stay on the field for three downs.

There's a role here for the right situation. Wilson's speed and tackling give him a foundation most linebackers lack, but the size and coverage concerns aren't going away. He'll help immediately on special teams and in run situations, though his ceiling depends entirely on coverage development that may or may not come.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance. For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.

*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
