Draft Profile: Bio
Isaac Brown was born in Homestead, Florida, and ran for 1,084 yards as a senior at Homestead Senior High School before committing to Louisville in August 2022. 247Sports ranked him the No. 39 running back in his class.

Brown became the first true freshman in Louisville history to run for 1,000 yards in 2024, rushing for more than 1,100 yards and 11 touchdowns, and he was the ACC Rookie of the Year and a second-team All-ACC pick. In 2025 he ran for 878 yards and seven touchdowns at 8.8 yards a carry and was a third-team All-ACC pick, but a non-contact right leg injury against Virginia Tech on 1 November, cost him time late in the season. He announced in January 2026 that he would enter the transfer portal, then reversed course within days, saying he came back for one reason, to win a national championship with his teammates.

The lingering leg injury limited him in camp, and he was listed as probable before the SMU game. He has since produced big plays, running for 125 yards at NC State and a career-high 235 yards and two touchdowns on 17 carries against Florida State, with runs of 97 and 68 yards, adding a 71-yard kick return for 313 all-purpose yards. He was the ACC running back of the week and ESPN's Bill Connelly called him his Week 6 Heisman winner. He has 707 yards and seven touchdowns on 92 carries and 15 catches for 141 yards and two scores in eight games.
Scouting Report: Strengths
  • Explosive runner averaging 7.7 yards a carry this season
  • Ran for 235 yards and two long touchdowns against Florida State
  • Forced 30 missed tackles on 92 carries this season
  • ACC Rookie of the Year after a 1,000-yard true freshman season
  • Averaged 8.8 yards a carry in 2025
  • Growing receiving role, with two touchdown catches this season
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
  • Very light frame, so he is not built for an inside workload
  • Leg injury in 2025 lingered into fall camp this year
  • Has fumbled twice this season and twice in each of the past two years
  • Shares carries, with 92 rushes in eight games
Scouting Report: Summary
Brown is an explosive, big-play running back who has produced at a high level since he arrived at Louisville. He became the first true freshman in program history to run for 1,000 yards and was the ACC Rookie of the Year in 2024, averaged 8.8 yards a carry in 2025 and is averaging 7.7 yards a carry this season, with 707 yards and seven touchdowns. He has good speed, cuts sharply in the hole and has forced 30 missed tackles on 92 carries.

His Florida State game showed his ceiling. He ran for 235 yards and two touchdowns on 17 carries, with runs of 97 and 68 yards, and added a 71-yard kick return for 313 all-purpose yards, earning ACC running back of the week honors. He also ran for 125 yards at NC State, and he has added 15 catches for 141 yards and two touchdowns, including a 46-yard score at Syracuse, so his receiving role is growing.

However, there are durability and workload questions. He is very light for a running back, so he is not built to carry an inside workload, and a non-contact leg injury against Virginia Tech in 2025 lingered into fall camp this year. He has 92 carries in eight games as he shares the backfield, and he has fumbled twice this season after two fumbles in each of the past two years. His pass protection is also limited, and he gave up a sack and six pressures on 50 pass-blocking snaps in 2025.

Overall, Brown is a home-run hitter whose per-carry production and speed make him one of the most dangerous backs in college football when healthy. He projects as a fourth-round running back with the ceiling of a starter in a committee and big-play specialist, and his kick return ability adds another way to contribute early. His medical checks and ball security will be the keys to his draft position.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance. For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.

*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
