Baugh announced himself as a true freshman, tying a Florida record with five touchdowns against Kentucky and earning 247Sports True Freshman of the Week honors. An Atlanta-area product out of Columbia High in Decatur, Georgia, he was a four-star and a top-20 running back recruit who flipped from Arkansas to the Gators. He led Florida in rushing as a freshman in 2024 with 673 yards and eight total touchdowns across thirteen games.Baugh became the workhorse as a sophomore in 2025, carrying 221 times for 1,168 yards and eight scores while adding 33 catches for 210 yards and two more touchdowns across twelve games. He forced 65 missed tackles and piled up 767 yards after contact, a physical, three-down back who runs through arm tackles and contributes in the passing game. His first career start alongside quarterback DJ Lagway marked the first time in program history that a true freshman quarterback and running back started the same game.

Scouting Report: Summary
Twelve starts, no fumbles and a thousand-yard season tell most of the story. Baugh became the first Florida back in a decade to crack a thousand and one of the few underclassmen in program history to do it, then closed with a 264-yard demolition of Florida State, the kind of finale that moves a player up boards by itself. He is built for volume, with the size to bang between the tackles and the patience to let zone schemes develop, and the ball security across two seasons of touches is spotless.What needs work is everything around the carries. The receiving menu is swings and screens, with little route development to date, and his wiggle in a phone booth is ordinary; the LSU and Kentucky games show defenses squeezing him when the blocking gives him nothing. Blitz pickup is willing but unschooled. None of these flaws are structural, but together they keep him from a three-down projection today.
The bet here is on age and frame. A true sophomore who handles an SEC workhorse load without putting the ball on the ground is a rare starting point, and the Mississippi State and Florida State tapes show a back who gets stronger as the game wears on. He projects to contribute early on early downs while the passing-game work catches up, and the lead-back ceiling is very much alive.
