Draft Profile: Bio
Ethan Fields was a first-team all-district pick at Dutchtown High School in Geismar, Louisiana, recording more than 60 pancake blocks as a senior. He threw the shot put as well and was a three-star recruit, rated among the top 60 offensive linemen in the country by 247Sports.Fields signed with Ole Miss and redshirted in 2023, then played in four games in 2024. He appeared in all 15 games in 2025, mostly as a reserve lineman and on special teams, without making a start.
He transferred to Alabama in January 2026, where he was projected as the first offensive lineman off the bench, able to play guard or tackle. He has played sparingly this season, logging snaps at both guard spots in four games without allowing a pressure. He has two years of eligibility left according to some listings, though others call him a redshirt junior.
Scouting Report: Strengths
- Versatile backup who can line up at guard or tackle
- Has not allowed a pressure in his limited snaps this season
- Strong lower body that reflects his shot-put background in high school
- Earned trust as Alabama's first lineman off the bench
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- No college starts on his record after three seasons
- Played only a handful of snaps in four games this season
- Very little tape against SEC defenders to judge him on
- Average athlete for the interior, with limited range on pulls
- Eligibility remaining, so he may return to compete for a starting job
Scouting Report: Summary
Fields is a versatile reserve lineman who has earned a role as Alabama's top backup up front. He can play guard or tackle, uses his strength well and has held up in the limited snaps he has played. However, his evaluation is built on very little tape. He has not started a college game, has played sparingly in two SEC programs and is an average athlete for the position. With eligibility left, his best route may be another season in college.
Overall, Fields is a smart, versatile backup with untested upside. He projects as a priority free agent long shot who needs a starting role to build his case.

For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.
*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
