Jayden Daniels was born December 18, 2000, in Fontana, California, and was raised in San Bernardino. He played three seasons at Arizona State and two at LSU, winning the 2023 Heisman Trophy after leading the Football Bowl Subdivision in total yards. The Washington Commanders selected him second overall in the 2024 draft, and Madden NFL 25 listed him at 74 for his rookie season.

Daniels threw for 3,568 yards with 25 touchdowns and nine interceptions in 2024 and ran for 891 yards, a record for a rookie quarterback. On October 27, 2024, he threw a 52-yard touchdown to Noah Brown as time expired to beat Chicago 18-15, and on December 22 he threw five touchdown passes in a 36-33 comeback win over Philadelphia. Washington finished 12-5, won playoff games at Tampa Bay and Detroit, and lost the NFC Championship Game. He was named Offensive Rookie of the Year and a Pro Bowl reserve.

Injuries shortened his second season. He sprained a knee in Week 2, strained a hamstring in Week 7 and dislocated an elbow against Seattle in Week 9 before Washington shut him down. He threw for 1,262 yards with eight touchdowns and three interceptions across seven games in 2025, and Madden NFL 26 listed him at 85. Through the 2025 season he had 4,830 passing yards, 33 touchdown passes and 12 interceptions in 24 games.
