Nico Collins was born on March 19, 1999 in Birmingham, Alabama, played at Clay-Chalkville High School and spent three seasons at Michigan before opting out of the 2020 season during the COVID-19 pandemic. Houston drafted him in the third round, 89th overall, in 2021. Madden NFL 22 listed him at 69 for that rookie season, and Madden NFL 23 moved him to 72 for 2022.
Injuries held him to 14 games in 2021 and 10 in 2022. In 2023 he caught 80 passes for 1,297 yards and 8 touchdowns with C.J. Stroud at quarterback, and Houston won the AFC South. He caught 68 passes for 1,006 yards and 7 touchdowns in 12 games in 2024 and was selected to his first Pro Bowl.
