From FCS South Dakota State to two Super Bowls against the Chiefs
Dallas Goedert came out of South Dakota State, an FCS program in Brookings, as a two-time All-American, and the Eagles traded up in the second round of 2018 to grab him 49th overall. For three years he split tight end snaps behind Zach Ertz. When Philadelphia dealt Ertz to Arizona in October 2021, the job became his, and he grew into one of the surest chain-movers in the league.
He has played in two Super Bowls, both against Kansas City. He caught six passes for 60 yards in the 38-35 loss in LVII, then got his ring in LIX as the Eagles routed the Chiefs 40-22. In 2025 he broke the franchise record for touchdowns by a tight end with 11.
His Madden numbers rose with his role. He entered at 77 in the 2018 edition and climbed a rung nearly every year, reaching 85 for 2022 before peaking at 89 in the 2023 game once he was the clear focal point. A dip to 85 followed in 2024, with a rebound to 87 for the 2025 edition.
