Eddie Jackson was born on December 10, 1993 in Lauderdale Lakes, Florida, played safety at Alabama, where he was defensive MVP of the January 2016 national championship game, and was drafted by the Chicago Bears in the fourth round, 112th overall, in 2017. On October 22 of his rookie year he returned a Cam Newton fumble 75 yards and a Newton interception 76 yards for touchdowns against Carolina, the first player in NFL history with two defensive touchdowns of 75 or more yards in one game. Madden NFL 18 listed him at 71 for that season.

He intercepted six passes in 2018 and was named first-team All-Pro and a Pro Bowler. Madden NFL 19 had him at 80 for that year, and Madden NFL 20 raised him to 91 for 2019, when he made a second straight Pro Bowl. Chicago signed him to a four-year, $58.4 million extension in January 2020 that made him the highest-paid safety in the league.

A Lisfranc injury ended his 2022 season after 12 games, and Madden NFL 23 listed him at 83 for that year. He played 12 more games in 2023, was released by the Bears in February 2024, and appeared in nine games for Baltimore and two for the Chargers that season. Jackson recorded 15 interceptions and six defensive touchdowns, all of them for Chicago.
