Jihad Ward took the juco road to Illinois, a second-round pick of Oakland in 2016 who never became a star but kept finding work, the definition of a useful rotational lineman, versatile enough to play edge or interior.

Madden peaked him at a 72 in the 2018 edition and hovered him around the high 60s and low 70s for years, a couple of sacks a year until a late-career uptick. His longevity is the story, nearly a decade across the Raiders, Ravens, Jaguars, Giants, Vikings and Titans, his best season coming late in Tennessee, employable everywhere precisely because he asked for nothing.
