Rookie of the Year who moonlighted as the Jets' fullback
Sheldon Richardson took a junior-college road through the College of the Sequoias to Missouri before the Jets drafted him 13th overall in 2013, and he made the detour look shrewd right away. He won Defensive Rookie of the Year that fall, wrecking blocking schemes from the interior, and New York got creative enough to line him up in the backfield, where he became the first NFL defensive lineman to score a rushing touchdown.
The Pro Bowl came after the 2014 season. He never quite stayed put after that, bouncing from the Jets to Seattle, Minnesota and Cleveland, but the disruption followed him wherever the snaps went.
Madden bought in fast. Richardson debuted at 79 in the 2013 edition, jumped to 88 in the 2014 edition on the strength of his rookie year, and reached a career best 92 in the 2015 edition. From there his cards drifted into the low 80s, steady value for a lineman who kept changing jerseys.
