Tyler Eifert was born on September 8, 1990 in Fort Wayne, Indiana, won the John Mackey Award at Notre Dame in 2012, and was drafted by Cincinnati with the 21st pick of the 2013 draft. He played 15 games with 13 starts as a rookie and caught 39 passes for 445 yards and two touchdowns, and Madden NFL 25 listed him at 80 for that 2013 season.
A dislocated elbow in the 2014 opener ended that season after one game, and Madden NFL 15 rated him 82 for it. He returned in 2015 to catch 13 touchdown passes in 13 games, more than any other tight end in the league that year, and was voted to the Pro Bowl, where he hurt his ankle. Madden NFL 17 rated him 90 for the 2016 season and Madden NFL 18 rated him 91 for 2017, years that back surgery ended after eight games and after two games.
He broke his ankle against Atlanta in September 2018 and played four games that season. He appeared in all 16 games in 2019 with 43 catches for 436 yards, then signed with Jacksonville and caught 36 passes in 15 games in 2020. Eifert last played that season, finishing with 221 receptions for 2,501 yards and 26 touchdowns in 74 games.
