Sam Bradford was born on November 8, 1987, in Oklahoma City and played college football at Oklahoma, winning the Heisman Trophy and the Davey O'Brien Award as a sophomore in 2008. The St. Louis Rams selected him first overall in the 2010 NFL draft. He started all 16 games as a rookie, set a rookie record with 354 completions and was named NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year, and Madden NFL 11 listed him at 80 for the 2010 season.

A high ankle sprain held him to 10 games in 2011, a season Madden NFL 12 listed at 85, and he set career highs in 2012 with 3,702 passing yards and 21 touchdowns. He tore his left ACL against Carolina in Week 7 of 2013, the season Madden NFL 25 listed at 85, then tore the same ligament in the 2014 preseason and missed that year. St. Louis traded him to Philadelphia in March 2015 for Nick Foles and draft picks.

Minnesota acquired Bradford on September 3, 2016, and he threw for 286 yards and two touchdowns in his first start on September 18 against Green Bay. His 71.6 completion percentage that season set a single-season NFL record, and Madden NFL 17 listed him at 78 for 2016. He opened 2017 with 346 yards and three touchdowns against New Orleans, a season Madden NFL 18 listed at 83, before knee surgery ended it. He started three games for Arizona in 2018 and was released in November. He finished with 19,449 passing yards and 103 touchdowns.
