Alex Barron Madden Career 2006-2011 - Peak 85 OVR

Alex Barron was born on September 28, 1982 in Orangeburg, South Carolina, and played four seasons at Florida State, where he was a consensus All-American in 2003 and a unanimous All-American in 2004. The St. Louis Rams drafted him 19th overall in 2005 and started him at right tackle, opposite Orlando Pace, for 11 games as a rookie. Madden NFL 06 rated him 79 for 2005.

He started all 16 games in 2006 and was flagged for 13 false starts, a season Madden NFL 07 rated him 84. He shifted to left tackle in 2007 after Pace was hurt in Week 1, and Madden NFL 08 rated him 85 for that year. In 2009 he started 16 games at left tackle, allowed seven sacks and led the league with seven holding penalties; Madden NFL 10 rated him 77 for the season.

Dallas acquired him from the Rams for linebacker Bobby Carpenter on May 10, 2010. In the September 12, 2010 opener at Washington, he was called for holding Brian Orakpo on the final play, erasing a Tony Romo touchdown pass to Roy Williams in a 13-7 loss, and he never started another game at tackle for the Cowboys. He later signed with New Orleans, Seattle and Oakland without appearing in a regular-season game. He finished with 43 false start penalties, 87 games and 75 starts.
