Kyle Orton Madden Career 2006-2014 - Peak 82 OVR

Kyle Orton was born on November 14, 1982, in Altoona, Iowa, and became the only Purdue quarterback to start four straight bowl games, throwing for 3,090 yards and 31 touchdowns as a first-team All-Big Ten senior in 2004. The Chicago Bears drafted him in the fourth round, 106th overall, in 2005. A preseason injury to Rex Grossman pushed him into the lineup, and Chicago went 10-5 in his 15 rookie starts and won the NFC North. Madden NFL 06 listed him at 71 for 2005.

Orton threw for 2,972 yards and 18 touchdowns in 2008, and Chicago traded him to Denver on April 2, 2009 in the deal for Jay Cutler. The Broncos opened 2009 at 6-0 and he threw for 3,802 yards. On September 26, 2010 he threw a career-high 476 yards against Indianapolis, and Madden NFL 11 put him at 80 for the 2010 season.

Tim Tebow replaced him five games into 2011 and Denver waived him that November; Kansas City claimed him and he beat the previously undefeated Packers 19-14. Madden NFL 12 rated him 82 for 2011, his highest. He signed with Dallas in March 2012 and started the 2013 finale after Tony Romo's back surgery, throwing for 358 yards in a 24-22 loss to Philadelphia; Madden NFL 25 listed him at 77 for that season. Buffalo signed him in 2014 and he went 7-5 as the starter with 3,018 yards. He retired on December 29, 2014 with 18,037 passing yards, 101 touchdowns and 69 interceptions.
