The Aggie guard who held down the Bears' interior for six years
Chicago spent a second-round pick, 66th overall, on him in the 1999 draft, and the Texas A&M product became a fixture on the Bears' offensive line. He played guard, the position where his strength and willingness to grind in close quarters served him best, and he stayed in Chicago for six seasons before finishing with the Rams and Lions.
He was a tough, no-frills interior blocker rather than a headline name, a steady presence a running game leans on. His career wound down after brief stops in St. Louis from 2005 to 2006 and Detroit into 2007, where he was released that August.
His Madden line rewarded his prime in Chicago. He sat at 63 in the 2001 edition, climbed as he established himself as a starter, and reached a career-high 90 in the 2005 edition before tapering off in his final seasons on the move.
