Ralf Mojsiejenko Madden Career Madden NFL 1992 - Peak 59 OVR
One card that gets the one thing he was good at backward
Ralf Mojsiejenko was born in Salzgitter, West Germany, punted at Michigan State, and went to San Diego in the fourth round in 1985 on the strength of a big leg. He made a Pro Bowl and second-team All-Pro for the Chargers in 1987, spent two years in Washington, and landed in San Francisco for a single season in 1991, which is the only reason he turns up on a 49ers roster at all.
That lone year is also his only Madden card, and the numbers on it are nonsense. The game rated him a 59 overall for the 1991 season, but built it out of a kick-power rating of 7, absurd for a punter known for booming the ball, and a kick-accuracy of 92, on the old 1-to-15 scale that turned everything early into guesswork. It is a single data point that gets the one thing he did well exactly backward.
Mojsiejenko punted for parts of seven seasons, averaged 42.5 yards, and never won a title, leaving Washington a year before it won Super Bowl XXVI. The German kid with the strong leg was a good pro. Madden's one card of him tells you almost nothing, and most of what it does tell you is wrong.
