Draft Profile: Bio
Niki Prongos grew up in the Bay Area and attended The Branson School before finishing at Marin Catholic High School, where he played his only season of high school football as a senior. He was mainly a basketball and baseball player, reaching the NorCal Division I basketball final in 2019, and he played for Lithuania's national team in a 2021 European Championship baseball qualifier.Prongos began his college career at UCLA, redshirting his first year and seeing most of his action in 2024, and he played in 10 games with eight starts at UCLA. He moved on through the transfer portal after that season to earn more playing time and moved to Stanford for 2025, where he started all 12 games at left tackle, the only Stanford lineman to start every game at one position. His line helped Ben Gulbranson throw for 444 yards in a comeback win over San Jose State, and two Stanford running backs earned ACC weekly honors. He allowed six sacks and 19 pressures that season.
Prongos announced in January 2026 that he would return for his final season rather than enter the draft. He missed the start of the season with an undisclosed injury, and coach Tavita Pritchard said in mid-September that he was trending positively. He returned for the 34-27 win over Georgia Tech, playing every snap at left tackle, and has allowed one sack and six pressures in six games.
Scouting Report: Strengths
- Started all 12 games at left tackle for Stanford in 2025
- Has allowed one sack and six pressures in six games this season
- Played every snap in his return against Georgia Tech
- Multi-sport athlete whose football development is still early
- Returned for a final season to keep developing rather than enter the draft
- Three seasons of starting experience at two Power Four programs
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- Below-average timed speed limits his recovery against speed rushers
- Allowed six sacks and 19 pressures in 2025
- Committed five penalties in his 12 starts in 2025
- An undisclosed injury cost him the start of this season
Scouting Report: Summary
Prongos has taken one of the most unusual paths in the class, from a basketball and baseball player with one season of high school football to a three-year starter at two Power Four programs. He started all 12 games at left tackle for Stanford in 2025, the only Stanford lineman to start every game at one position, and he has allowed one sack and six pressures in six games this season. His long frame and multi-sport background suggest he is still growing as a lineman. His 2026 season started late. An undisclosed injury kept him out of the opening games, and Tavita Pritchard said in September that he was trending positively before he returned for the 34-27 win over Georgia Tech, playing every snap at left tackle. He has played steadily since, with a clean game against NC State and one pressure allowed against Wake Forest, and his return for a final season showed his commitment to developing his game.
However, his athletic profile is a concern for an NFL left tackle. His timed speed is below average, which limits his recovery against speed rushers, and he allowed six sacks and 19 pressures in 2025. He also committed five penalties that season, and his late start in football means his technique is still catching up to his size. The injury that cost him the start of this season adds another question to his evaluation. Teams will want to see better consistency in his pass sets over the final month.
Overall, Prongos is a developing tackle whose size, experience and late start suggest there is room to grow. He projects as a fourth-round tackle with the ceiling of a starting right tackle and the floor of a swing tackle, and his recent growth gives a team something to build on. A strong finish against ACC pass rushers would help answer the questions about his feet.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank
in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance.
For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.
*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
