Draft Profile: Bio
Jontez Williams played defensive back, receiver, running back and quarterback at Bradford High School in Starke, Florida, also competing in basketball and track. His father, Andrew Williams, played at Miami and in the NFL.

Williams played in 13 games at Iowa State in 2023, then started 12 games in 2024 with 46 tackles and four interceptions, earning second-team All-Big 12. He started five games in 2025 before tearing the ACL in his right knee against Arizona on 27 September.

Williams transferred to USC in January 2026, choosing the Trojans over Notre Dame as one of the top corners in the portal. He missed spring practice but was cleared for fall camp and has played in all nine games, including the 31-23 win at Penn State and the 30-18 win over Ohio State. He has allowed one touchdown, at Rutgers, and has yet to intercept a pass.
Scouting Report: Strengths
  • Keeps receivers in front of him, allowing about seven yards a catch
  • Ohio State managed 17 yards on seven throws in his direction
  • Ball skills shown with four interceptions for Iowa State in 2024
  • Good size and length for a boundary cornerback
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
  • Tore the ACL in his right knee in September 2025
  • Has not intercepted a pass in nine games this season
  • Average speed limits his recovery on deep routes
  • Gave up a touchdown in the game at Rutgers
  • Playmaking has not returned to its 2024 level since the injury
Scouting Report: Summary
Williams is a smart, physical corner who has returned from a torn ACL to start for USC. He keeps receivers in front of him, tackles well and held his own against Ohio State, allowing 17 yards on seven targets.

However, he has not shown the playmaking of his 2024 season, with no interceptions this year, and his speed is only average. The ACL injury will be a key part of his medical evaluation.

Overall, Williams has the size, experience and football bloodlines that teams like. He projects as a priority free agent corner who needs a clean knee report.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance. For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.

*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
