Draft Profile: Bio
PJ Woodland was the 2023 Mississippi 7A Defensive Player of the Year at Oak Grove High School in Hattiesburg, helping the team win a state title. He intercepted seven passes as a junior and five as a senior, returning two for touchdowns, while also catching passes for more than 1,300 yards as a senior and playing basketball.Woodland played in all 13 games as a freshman at LSU in 2024, making two starts. He started every game in 2025, intercepting two passes, sacking the quarterback against Clemson and breaking up 11 passes.
Now a junior, Woodland has been in the starting lineup all season and LSU credits him with 11 pass breakups in eight games. He made a key tackle at the end of a 77-yard run in the overtime loss to Kentucky on 10 October and posted nine tackles in the 38-17 win over Auburn.
Scouting Report: Strengths
- Plays the ball well at the catch point, with 11 pass breakups this season
- Texas A&M threw at him nine times for three completions and 19 yards
- Competitive tackler who saved a touchdown against Kentucky
- Three-year starter with plenty of experience against SEC receivers
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- Very slight frame for an outside cornerback in the SEC
- Missed eight tackles this season, including two each against Ole Miss and Auburn
- Ole Miss completed four of seven passes against him, including a touchdown
- Quarterbacks have completed 23 of 39 throws in his direction
- True junior who may choose another year at LSU
Scouting Report: Summary
Woodland is a competitive, experienced corner who has started for LSU since his sophomore season. He plays the ball well at the catch point, with 11 pass breakups this season, and Texas A&M had little success throwing at him. However, he is undersized for the position, and it shows in his tackling, with eight misses this season. Quarterbacks have completed more than half their throws against him, and Ole Miss found success.
Overall, Woodland's ball skills and experience give him a shot at a roster spot. He projects as a priority free agent who needs to add strength, and he could benefit from another season at LSU.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank
in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance.
For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.
*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
