Draft Profile: Bio
Jamari Sharpe played receiver at Miami Northwestern Senior High School before moving to cornerback as a senior, and he helped the school win a state title in 2019. He also ran track, finishing sixth in the 3A state 100 meters in 10.69 seconds and winning a district title in the 200. His uncle, Glenn Sharpe, played cornerback at Miami. He signed with Indiana in 2022 as a three-star recruit.Sharpe redshirted in 2022, started nine games in 2023 with an interception against Michigan State and played a reserve role in 2024 under Curt Cignetti, making six pass breakups. He started all 16 games in 2025 for Indiana's unbeaten national champions, forcing fumbles against Kennesaw State and Michigan State. In the title game against Miami he made six tackles and intercepted Carson Beck in the final minute to seal the 27-21 win, then said he had shown everyone why they should have recruited him.
Sharpe returned as a redshirt senior in 2026 and was named to the Lott IMPACT Trophy watch list. He had eight tackles and a key interception in the 20-17 win at Nebraska and a sack against Western Kentucky, and he has allowed 16 catches on 36 targets in eight games for an 8-1 team. Cignetti has said he has grown up a lot and improved as a player.

Scouting Report: Summary
Sharpe is a fast, smart zone corner with a flair for big moments. He has rare speed from his sprinting background, reads quarterbacks and drives on throws, and he sealed Indiana's national title with an interception of Carson Beck in the final minute. He also forced four fumbles in 2025, a rare trait for a corner, and he tackles reliably, with two misses this season. He has also been durable, starting all 16 games in 2025.His 2026 season has been steady. He made eight tackles and a key interception in the 20-17 win at Nebraska, sacked the Western Kentucky quarterback and has allowed 16 catches on 36 targets in eight games for an 8-1 team. Curt Cignetti has said he has grown up a lot, and the player who was a reserve in 2024 has become a dependable starter. Minnesota threw at him nine times and gained 15 yards on four catches.
However, his coverage is better in zone than in man, where quick releases can beat him, and Ohio State scored on him in the October loss. His frame is light for an outside corner, bigger receivers can test him at the catch point, and his career interception total is modest, with three in five seasons. He is also a redshirt senior who will be an older prospect. Ohio State completed three of eight passes against him for 63 yards and a touchdown.
Overall, Sharpe fits an off-coverage, zone-heavy defense that lets his eyes and speed work, and his big-game production is hard to ignore. He projects as a third-round corner with the ceiling of a starter in the right scheme and the floor of a reliable reserve and special teams player. His big-game resume, including the title-game interception and a key pick at Nebraska, will appeal to teams that value poise under pressure.
