Draft Profile: Bio
Ja'Bril Rawls was a do-everything player at Pensacola Catholic High School, totalling 1,555 all-purpose yards, 98 tackles, six interceptions and five return touchdowns. As a senior he intercepted four passes and caught seven touchdowns. He was a three-star recruit.Rawls redshirted at Florida State in 2023 and played in 11 games in 2024. He started seven games in 2025, making 11 tackles with an interception at Virginia, before an upper-body injury at Clemson ended his season. He put his name in the transfer portal in December 2025 but returned to Florida State two weeks later, and he enters 2026 with a redshirt year still on his record.
On the Bednarik Award watch list, Rawls has played in all eight games in 2026. He made nine tackles in the loss to SMU and eight at Alabama, and Mike Norvell has called him one tough son of a gun. He has also sacked the quarterback once and broken up two passes.
Scouting Report: Strengths
- Physical tackler for his size, with nine tackles against SMU
- Sacked the quarterback on a well-timed blitz at Alabama
- Return skills and ball skills that stood out in high school
- Tough competitor whose head coach praises his edge and effort
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- Quarterbacks have scored three touchdowns against him this season
- New Mexico State targeted him 11 times for 91 yards and a score
- Very slight build for a corner who plays on the boundary
- Four penalties this season, including two at Alabama
- An upper-body injury at Clemson ended his 2025 season
Scouting Report: Summary
Rawls is a tough, physical corner who brings energy to the Florida State defense. He tackles well for his size, can blitz off the edge and has the competitive streak his coaches value. However, he has struggled in coverage in 2026. He has allowed three touchdowns, New Mexico State attacked him, and penalties have been an issue. His light frame and a season-ending injury in 2025 are also concerns.
Overall, Rawls is a competitive corner whose value may come on special teams. He projects as a priority free agent who needs to tighten his coverage.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank
in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance.
For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.
*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
