Draft Profile: Bio
Jyaire Hill from Kankakee High School was rated a 4-star recruit by ESPN and handed a 4-star grade by 247 Sports. Following high school, Hill opted to join Michigan after being heavily recruited.

In 2023 as a freshman Hill saw action in 4 games and played a total of 56 snaps at cornerback for the Wolverines. He recorded only 5 tackles, 2 assists, while adding 2 stops. In coverage Hill notched up no pass breakups, no interceptions, and an outstanding QB rating when targetted of 50.3.

As a sophomore in 2024 he played in 4 games and logged 222 snaps for the Wolverines. He made 15 tackles, no assists, and had 5 stops. In coverage he totaled 3 pass breakups, no interceptions, and QB rating when targetted of 109.5.
Scouting Report: Strengths
  • Has good ball skills to locate and attack the ball in the air.
  • Has explosive movement skills and the fluid athleticism and change-of-direction ability to come down and cover slot receivers.
  • Aware zone cornerback who is also adept in man coverage, flashing physical hand punch at the line and straight-line speed to stay with receivers downfield.
  • Can get up under a receiver’s chin and has the speed to flip his hips and run downfield. Hill has the quick and surprisingly powerful hands to jostle receivers early. But he’s at his best peeking into the backfield.
  • Has the change-of-direction ability to mirror underneath but did solid work out of press and off coverage.
  • Hill tracks the ball well and does a nice job of getting his head around in plenty of time to avoid flags.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
  • Isn’t overly physical and might struggle to win early against bigger receivers in the NFL. He’s also underpowered in run support, not aggressive enough coming downhill, and too much of a grab-and-drag tackler.
  • Much better in coverage than Hill is in run support.
  • Gave up far too many big plays in college, especially concerning since he has recovery speed to make up for missteps.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance. For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.

*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
